In order that you are spared any unpleasant surprises when you receive our invoices or in your claims for remuneration of health care costs from your insurance company we would like to point out some important factors in administrative processing:
BASIC INSURANCE OR WITH SUPPLEMENTARY (so-called TOP- UP) INSURANCE?
At present the services performed under the terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine are not deemed to be “obligatory performance” by the national health insurance organizations, even though this year there was a consensus on “complementary medicine” that received a large majority of acceptance. At the moment we are not yet sure about the effects of implementation of this People’s Initiative. We will of course inform you of the results at the earliest when these have been announced.
Acupuncture proves to be an exception amongst health and accident insurance companies in respect of basic services that can be accepted for payment insofar as these are performed by a physician with recognized qualifications.
It is therefore important that when you have an appointment at one of our locations where a physician with qualified acupuncture qualification is employed, on your first visit you should state whether the acupuncture treatment shall be charged under your standard health insurance or under the terms of a supplementary insurance policy.
In TCM Ming Dao in Bad Zurzach it is possible to invoice for acupuncture session 12 times per year under the terms of your basic health insurance.
The amount of the health insurance contribution varies from patient to patient and must therefore be clarified by the patient himself prior to commencement of treatment.
INITIAL EXAMINATION ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES OF ACADEMIC MEDICINE
For a diagnosis that is as definitive as possible and in order to recognize any further existing health problems then at all locations in the case of self admission, we carry out a classic admission examination. The costs of this examination are borne by basic health insurance cover.
